When should I tune up my car?

There is not a clear-cut answer to this. We recommend to have a tune-up check at least once per year. Most manufacturers have slightly different recommendations for when to perform a tune up.

It would be best to consult your owner's manual for specific recommendations for your vehicle.

How often do I really need to have the oil changed in my car?

You can never change the oil too often, but we recommend having the oil changed every 3,000 miles at the latest. Some vehicle manufacturers recommend longer periods between oil changes.

If you stick with changing every 3,000 miles, your vehicle should be just fine.

When will I know when it is time to change my brake pads?

Usually there is a little indicator on the brake pads that makes a squeaking noise when the brake pads get low and need to be changed.

On many of the newer vehicles on the road, there is a sensor that triggers a light to come on in the dash to let you know the brake pads need servicing.

Why does my car / truck shake or vibrate?

When a vehicle shakes or vibrates at low speeds it is usually a problem with the tires or wheels. When a vehicle shakes or vibrates at high speeds it is usually a problem with the tires.

When a vehicle shakes or vibrates when applying the brakes it is usually a problem with the brakes. If you are experiencing any type of problem with your vehicle, it is always advisable to have a qualified technician check it out.

How often should I rotate my vehicle's tires?

We recommend rotating your tires every 6,000-8,000 miles. The tread life of your tires could be cut by 40% by not rotating them on a regular basis.

Q. If I use parts bought from a parts store instead of from the dealer, will I void my dealer warranty?

A. You have the right as a consumer to purchase parts from any source that you choose. Usually as long as the parts meet the specifications set by your vehicle manufacturer for that part and are properly installed, your warranty should stay intact.

Q. Should I follow the recommended service in my vehicle's owner's manual?

If you want to keep your car in good condition it is best to follow the service recommendations in your owner's manual. This can help to prevent some unexpected repairs for your vehicle and prevent your manufacturer's warranty from becoming void.
